Tonight I did this...

We Are Scientists at KOKO.... after mistakenly turning up at The Roundhouse (hope my assignment editor doesn't see this!  oops!).  Anyway I made it in plenty of time, phew!

The crowd was heaving, full of screaming girls which was kind of hilarious, and the band were on really good form.  They seemed genuinely excited and having a good time, and they sounded great - thankfully they played "Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt" on the third song so really made my time there worthwhile (yeah yeah unoriginal but it's such a bloody good song).  Took me right back to 2007 and meeting a certain someone...

And the best thing?  FABULOUS LIGHTING!  Oh what a breath of fresh air it is to go to a gig that has thoughtful, exciting, flattering lighting... and you can almost always count on any band playing at KOKO having good lighting.  It made my job so much more pleasurable tonight, rather than standing there throwing obscenities under my breath about "whoever the f*** decided this lighting would be a good idea" etc etc.  Sometimes I do wonder if people stand back and take a look at what they have created - sometimes there is barely any lighting, and I wonder are the crowd - the paying gig going punters - as pissed off at me that they are standing there unable to make out the people they have come to see (and hear, obviously).

Anyway - this is my favourite shot of the night.... enjoy.

yeah you know the score, it's all copyrighted 'n shit.  Leave it alone x

There's no business like snow business...

...especially when you live near "The Heath" and get to see great people like Tom here.... yes, it's the middle of London and yes, he is on ski's... Tom was one of the lucky ones, he got a "snow day" today, and what else would you do with a snow day but think "I know, I'll get my ski's out and head off to Parliament Hill" right?  Right?!

No me either but that's only because I don't own ski's, and I thinkTom is a legend for doing this.  Cheers, I hope you had fun, and here is proof for your disbelieving flatmates,, right here!

As well as the lovely Tom, there were other people making the most of the snow - like this man, he's an animator by trade, and he is by far wearing the most inadequate clothing for the FREEZING temperatures outside (and he knew it!).  But kudos to him for owning the most old school sledge I have seen in recent years.... love it!

Last but not least, and I couldn't not mention them since they are what make the Heath what it is... the dogs!  Loving the snow, and going generally MENTAL over it, eating it, rolling in it, barking at it and running around in circles.  I wish I had a dog...

oh hello...

This is Annie...she's a good girl, she liked a big cuddle.  I wanted to take her back with me.  Owner say's nope no way!

About Me

My photo
I am a London based photographer specialising in music, portraits and commercial photography. I trained in Graphic Design for four years then went on to complete a degree in fashion photography at the London College of Fashion. My passion for photography was spurned from my dad who used to be an extremely talented amateur photographer, he will always be my inspiration for everything I do... I have had work published in a variety of mediums including iD, Time Out, Billboard magazine, The Times, The Guardian, MTV and the BBC, as well as producing campaigns for charities such as Age Concern and Cancer Research UK. I live and breathe the work I do, I'm happy to say I'm an addict to photography and hope never to sober up... you can always expect dedication to the work that I do, so if anyone out there is looking for a photographer to commission -pick me!
